THE WEIGHT OF THOSE WE MUST CARRY WITH US

“Home” is a place that has been constantly impermanent in my life. Often the marker of home has been tied to people, storytelling and memory. Unseen comforts are necessary for adapting and extending generational memory especially when tied to the reality of erasure and displacement. With a billowing cloud of paper smoke and the foundation of carved woodcut, THE WEIGHT OF THOSE WE MUST CARRY WITH US is about the responsibility of traveling with an invisible home full of the past that makes the present a space that is never truly alone.
